We get calls and emails all the time about people wanting to swap an EJ20 Subaru engine into their car and we love to help with this! However, it's not enough information since the term EJ20 is a very general identification for any Subaru EJ engine that has 2 liters of displacement. It's not specific to the model year, whether it came with a turbo, AVCS, etc. So when you are describing your engine to us for your build please be more specific (ex: version number or year). If you aren’t sure, then you are welcome to send us a picture and we can help identify it.

We've included a basic list of common engines with some general information to assist.

Not sure which engine you have? Watch this video to learn how to identify your engine.

Hello I have a few questions? The car that I have is a 2005 Subaru wrx turbo(manual) The engine is a non AVCS.I am look to convert to AVCS the reason I have a bad engine.
What I need to convert non AVCS to AVCS?
What are the differences between AVCS Bulk head kit (sku:PP:BYAVB01) to AVCS intake manifold kit(SKU:PP-BTAV001) Do i need them both?i just want have AVCS set up correctly

I know I have to do something with the ECU.
Can I re flash the own ecu to work correctly to AVCS set up.I have to get JDM ECU and then re flash it?
I just Don’t want to cut corners I want my car to pass emission
