Proper mounting of the engine computer (ECU) in the Factory Five 818 is critical to the ECU's long term reliability and overall fit and finish of the car. The last thing anyone wants is a zip tie holding the ECU in place while it bounces up and down off of the frame, rattling all of the critical components inside. The mounting box also helps protect the ECU from heat, debris, and moisture that can be found in the engine bay.
The ECU box will mount on the engine bay side of the rear firewall behind the passenger's seat. This helps keep it up away from the heat of the header and clear from road debris. The box slides on top of the upper support bar to keep water from coming down into the ECU.
